Zveme vás na další ze série setkání, během kterých nejrůznější umělci*kyně představují svůj tvůrčí proces a nástroje. Tentokrát nás navštíví duo Rust - Petra El Hawi, vokalistka a hudební terapeutka pocházející z Libanonu a Hany Manja, hudební a producent pocházející ze Sýrie. Dvojice v současné době hodně koncertuje v zahraničí a zároveň průběžně vydává další hudbu, jsme tedy rády*i, že se s nimi budeme moci potkat i v Synth Library a dozvědět se něco víc o jejich tvůrčím procesu, o síle hlasu a pohledu na arabskou hudební tradici i autenticitu včetně používání mikrotonality v hudebním softwaru Bitwig nebo hraní na tradiční nástroj Oud. We are excited to invite you to another artist talk where different artists explain their creative process and show their instruments and techniques.

This time we will have a chance to meet with the Rust duo - Petra El Hawi - Lebanese music therapist and vocalist and Hany Manja - Syrian musician and electronic music producer. At the moment they are excessively touring while releasing more music, so we are happy that they accepted the invitation and will join us to talk about how their approach to making music and what is important for them - the power of voice, traditional Arabic musicality including ways how to work with microtonality in a DAW (Bitwig) and how to stay culturally authentic as producer in the digital environment, or playing Oud, a traditional, lute-type instrument.

Rust is a Prague-based Syrian/Lebanese duo who draws its influence from the traditional Arabic musicality, adding original compositions and powerful vocals to create captivating soundscapes of Electro-Tarab. Their live performances transport listeners to a realm where tradition meets innovation, and the beauty of Arabic music converges with the dynamic energy of electronic music. Rust is determined to challenge traditional notions of Arab identity and create a sonic expression all of their own. The project started in 2021 and was co-founded by: Petra El Hawi - Lebanese music therapist and vocalist and Hany Manja - Syrian musician and electronic music producer.
